About Me

Melinda McGarry is a painter living on an ex-dairy farm in Northumberland. Her studio is a redundant cow shed. She specialises in Still Life Painting and has exhibited in the UK, France and Germany.

After a career in Campaigning and Public Relations, McGarry completed a BA (Hons) Degree in Fine Art at Newcastle University, during which she travelled to Ecole des Beaux-Arts, Nancy, France, on an Erasmus scholarship. Recent exhibitions include: ‘Byre’ site-specific group exhibition with Oliva Irvine, Helen Shaddock, and Ally Wallace at East Elrington Barn, ‘World Collage Day’ at Merz Gallery, Sanquhar (May 2021), and ‘The Contemporary Countryside’, a group exhibition at Foldyard Gallery, Berwick upon Tweed (2019). McGarry also appeared in and contributed to the script of ‘An uncertain world’, Theatre Sans Frontières, a Zoom/film /Theatre screened at Queen’s Hall, in May 2021.
